WHAT IS A BOUGIE BIRTH PACKAGE?
You won’t have to worry about a thing. Let us pamper you.
Your home birth will include:
Unlimited on-call support
Throughout your pregnancy to answer questions or attend to emergent situations
Comprehensive prenatal visits
- Monthly visits, week 4 through 28
- Biweekly visits, week 28 to 36
- Weekly visits, week 37 until birth
Holistic care including:
- Micronutrient testing
- Cortisol evaluation
- Thyroid panel
- Additional labs
An individualized nutrition and vitamin regiment based on our background in Functional Medicine, supporting your healthiest pregnancy
Labor monitoring and support including:
- Your very own doula
- Your midwife, Roberta Devers, on call beginning at 27 weeks for your birth
- We stay with you throughout your labor and for four or more hours postpartum
- If transport is necessary, you are never alone – we are with you
- Professional photography
- Your birthing tub and birth sling is also included
Immediately after delivery
- We handle all your birth certificate paperwork
- We clean up and you’ll never know a birth just happened in your home
- We prepare you a special postpartum meal
- Your doula will prepare herbal sitz baths and belly binding
Postnatal support
- A massage therapist will deliver a massage right in your home
- You have one week with our special Bemer machine for advanced postpartum healing
- Placenta encapsulation is included
- Your first visit at 24 to 48 hours
- Your second visit at 5 to 7 days
- Your third visit at six weeks
- Your fourth visit
- Two additional visits from your doula

40 years ago, my own son was placed in my arms and I understood what I was going to do with my life. Since then I’ve attended more than 1,500 births, most of them at home.
What I learned in that time is that families don’t need more information. They need fewer things to worry about.
The Bougie Birth Package exists because I got tired of watching capable people spend the last weeks of pregnancy arranging logistics instead of preparing
for a baby.
I began attending births in 1987 and trained at Casa de Nacimiento, a birth center on the U.S.–Mexico border. I hold degrees in Maternal & Infant Health and in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and I
helped pass the law that brought midwifery into the legal fold in Vermont.
None of that is why you should hire me. You should hire me because from the moment we begin you are known by name, not by chart number or appointment slot. You will not be alone at any point, and you will not have to manage a single thing except the birth of your child, my team and I will handle the rest.
